Report Design I: Fundamentals of Report Design
Overview: This two-day course is
designed for the novice Crystal Reports user who needs
to quickly become proficient in creating and modifying
reports.
Prerequisites: Students must be proficient
in Windows and have a basic understanding of databases.
Topics Covered Include: Report Design
Concepts, Report Design, ODBC data source setup, Record
Selection, Sorting, Grouping and Summarising, Formatting
for Presentation Quality, Linking, Formula Basics,
Conditional Reporting, Section Formatting, Text Objects
and Charting.
Report Design II: Business Reporting Solutions
Overview: This two-day course is
designed to build on the topics learned in Report Design
Introduction, to increase report design skills.
Prerequisites: Students must have
taken the Introductory course and understand basic
report design concepts.
Topics Covered Include: Report Creation
Review, Grouping Options, Sections, Formulas, Parameters,
Report Templates, Report Distribution, Report Design
and SQL, Variables and Arrays and Building Specialised
Reports.
Report Design III: Report Processing Strategies
Overview: This one-day course is
designed to further increase report design skills by
concentrating on advanced topics. Along with hands-on
practice, the course covers architecture, report design
and SQL, advanced formula creation such as arrays and
control structures.
Prerequisites: Attendees
must have attended both Crystal Reports
Introductory and Intermediate courses and/or
have 6 months experience in working with
Crystal Reports.
Topics Covered Include: Complex Formulae,
Working with Databases, Custom Functions, Subreports
and Architecture.
